Sometimes it's all about simplicity....super easy and so good for lunch! Didn't you know there's lobster in Marten River?
First, catch yourself:
- 4 pounds walleye/pickerel fillets, cut into bite size chunks
- boiling salted water*
Slowly place the fish chunks into the water and cook only until they begin to float. Remove immediately from water, mix in 1 tbsp. sugar in 3 tbsp melted butter, and 2 cloves of fresh chopped garlic. Mix well with a fork, and put in fridge to chill.
Next, combine the following:
- 3 tbsp. diced celery
- 3 tbsp. diced garlic dill pickles
- 3 tbsp. diced green onion
- 1/2-3/4 cup mayo
- 1/4 tsp. smoked paprika (mild or hot, however you like it!)
- 2 tbsp. lemon juice
- salt and pepper to taste
Add to fish and continue to chill.
Finally, butter 6 top loading hot dog buns and toast to perfection on the BBQ. Stuff your buns and you're off! Serve with thick cut potato chips and bloody Caesars. And continue to chill.....
Can't you just hear the lake calling?
*make sure you salt your water enough, if it tastes like the ocean, it’s good.
